Why do I need ms4 training

Effective stormwater management is imperative for protecting our environment and communities against the harmful effects of pollutants. Without proper regulations and measures in place, pollutants have the potential to be washed or dumped into storm sewers, posing significant risks to water quality and ecosystem health. Certain operators are mandated to obtain MS4 permits and develop comprehensive stormwater management plans (SWMPs) to mitigate these threats. These plans serve as blueprints for implementing best management practices (BMPs) aimed at minimizing the discharge of pollutants into the storm drain system, thereby preserving the integrity of our waterways and ensuring the well-being of both present and future generations.

This training program addresses a significant need in Nebraska. At present, there is a shortage of affordable training options. Moreover, the available courses do not cater specifically to Nebraska’s MS4 Permit requirements. Our training course, however, meets the staff training criteria set forth by the Nebraska Department of Environment and Energy (NDEE) for the MS4 Permit.
